Togo: Power utility to digitally map its customers and supply equipment

(Togo First) - Togo’s power utility (CEET) launched, on 20 January 2023, a census of its customers’ meters. The project will allow the State company to have a digital map of its customers and supply equipment.

With the data collected during the census, the CEET will develop a reliable geolocalization system covering Lomé, Tsévié, Kévé, and their surroundings.

The campaign is part of the Togo Energy Reform and Investment Project (PRSIET). This is a project that the World Bank has backed, with CFA20 billion..

Out of all the 'Doing Business’ indicators, Property Registration is where Togo has improved the most since 2018. Indeed, after spending years in the lowest part of this ranking, the country now seeks to beat Rwanda which is the best performer on this index in Africa. To do so, Lomé has been introducing many reforms, with the latest batch implemented this year.
