In 2018, Alaffia and its owner received an Award for Corporate Excellence from the US State Secretary, under the "Women's economic empowerment" category.
The same year, Olowo-N’djo joined the consultative committee on African trade (for 4 years), an entity that provides counseling on trade and development policies related to sub-Saharan African countries, notably regarding the AGOA.
